The agora in ancient Greece represented a public space where people gathered to eat, drink, exchange ideas and socialize. Currently the Olympic Agora invites the general public to enjoy a moment around the sport and culture of the Olympics.
From 1st July to 15th August 2021, the Nihonbashi district shows visitors an exhibition of great Olympic treasures where you can see posters, torches and Olympic medals. You can also enjoy virtual tours and large-scale sculptures.
Among the most outstanding works of Tokyo 2020, we can find a reproduction of the “Olympic Gold Medal” located in the Atrium of the Mitsui Tower.
While the sculpture of the artist French, Xavier Veilhan, entitled “The Audience” is exhibited in Coredo Muromachi Terrace, this creation represents five persons of different ages, genres and nationalities, painted with the representative Olympic Colors.
And you can’t miss the great Japanese technology represented by the large-scale light sculpture “Solidarity and Collaboration” by Makoto Tojiki, inspired in relay career. The sculpture is made of steel mesh and illuminated in different colors at night, and it’s located in Fukutoku Plaza.
Several athletes from Tokyo 2020, give iconic items, such as: skateboards, swimsuits or surfboards, among other things, to be part of the Olympic Agora.
