Original ways to eat pistachios


Currently, several health and nutrition studies have been carried out, where it has been found that nuts are beneficial and natural fats that nourish the body so that people have more energy during the day, provide them with fibre, vitamins and proteins that contribute to a balanced nutrition.


Consuming a portion of 28 grams of pistachios daily helps to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, fights the signs of ageing and being a great source of protein, helps athletes to recover their muscle mass.

 

To show the variety of consuming pistachios at any time of the day and in any food, Chef Geovana Sitja prepared some dishes.


First, we started with a fresh and delicious pistachio horchata, based on the traditional horchata or Valencian tiger nut. We continued with a delicious pistachio-crusted salmon, which was breaded with pistachio, the olive oil, Dijon mustard, black pepper and lemon juice, which, combined with fresh vegetables, was an absolute delight to the palate.


And we were left wanting to try the grilled salmon, created by chef Art Smith, which has a couscous base with diced pistachio and dressed with extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, finely chopped chives, pepper, lemon and mint to give it that fresh touch.

 

Then we tried a dessert of pistachio tiramisu with Greek yoghurt that enhanced the pistachio flavour in an ideal sweetness with honey to be enjoyed without remorse.


“Creating a menu inspired by American pistachios has been a very complete experience, since being such a versatile and nutritious ingredient it can be easily integrated into different types of recipes,” said Chef Geovana Sitja “from sauces, breads and rice dishes, to pastas, salads and smoothies, American pistachios bring extra energy and flavour to every bite.”
