From 11th to 14th September in Spain, Mexican polo players played against Spanish polo players at Los Mariachis Polo Club.

The Fundación Casa de México offered a welcome cocktail for players, sponsors and special guests to present the first edition of the Copa de Polo de la Hermandad in Madrid.

Juan de Dios Pérez Serrano, Francisco Acosta, Manuel González Vallinas and Lorenzo Soriano made up the Spanish team, while Miguel Calzada, Juan José de Alba, Diego Aguilar and Robert Payne represented Mexico.

On Saturday 14th September, the final of the tournament took place between margaritas with tequila, guacamole, serrano ham tapas, barbacoa and hats. A close and interesting match between the two teams gave the victory to the Mexican team with a last-minute goal by Juan José de Alba, for a final score of 8 out of 7 points for the Spanish team.

During the award ceremony, a mariachi band came to liven up the presentation of the cup to the Mexican team. Both teams received a gift from Mexican designer Daniel Espinosa, as well as some artwork provided by the Nayarit Ministry of Tourism.
