The Swiss brand has always been present in the sport’s world and couldn’t miss in this World Cup tournament.

The countdown to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is on, and Hublot’s innovative new Gen 3 connected watch is ready to time every minute of it.

The Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will be in kick-off mode, before the tournament starts, keeping track of the days until the opening match on November 20th between Qatar and Ecuador. The 129 official referees will be timing all 64 matches right through to the final in Doha’s Lusail Stadium on December 18th with the new Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ on their wrists.

Hublot Loves Football!

The “Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™” is a limited edition of one thousand timepieces. With an even larger and improved high-definition screen, every glorious moment of the game will be captured by the new designed dedicated football app.

Fifteen minutes to go before each match, the watch will deliver team line-ups and player profiles, so the wearer can feast on the details from the comfort of their wrist. As a game kicks off, the watch will automatically enter “match mode” and activate “timeline”, a feature created exclusively for this watch that will help fans capture the most important moments in football.

At the outer edge of the dial there will be a scale split into five sections, indicating the first and second halves, additional time allowed in each half, and half time. If a goal is scored, the watch will show a match event animation mentioning the player’s name, and a football symbol will appear at the appropriate minute mark on the scale. The same thing happens if there is a penalty, yellow or red card.

If a match goes beyond normal time, the watch display will automatically switch into extra time mode, and then again into shoot-out mode, in the event a match goes to penalties. Each penalty is recorded by a football with a green or red outline to indicate whether the attempt was successful or not. A final “match period animation” shows when the game is over, and the final score.

“We’ve waited four years – the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is coming! Hublot has always been ‘unique, first, different’, becoming the first Fine Watchmaking brand in football in 2006. Today, Hublot is the first name in football timekeeping.” Comments Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot’s CEO.

“For this year’s tournament, we wanted to do something that expresses our belief in a free, diverse, and unified world in a new and memorable way. We are so excited for this year’s festival of football to begin and wish every participating team the very best of luck. Hublot Loves Football!” concluded Ricardo Guadalupe.

The official version has a burgundy dial and a black and burgundy lined rubber strap inspired by the flag colours of the State of Qatar, FIFA World Cup 2022™ Host Country. Fans will also be able to choose dial and strap designs in the colours of each of the 32 participating countries.
