Arceau timepieces inspired by some carrés

Maison Hermès seeks to awaken emotions through time, without straying from its DNA, Hermès Horloger expresses creativity in its trends and fulfils the brand’s demanding savoir-faire.

Arceau was a model created in 1978 by Henri d’Origny. In 2022, Arceau offers three Haute Horlogerie alternatives to all styles.

Arceau Les Folies du Ciel

This design is inspired by Les folies du ciel” carré, created in 1984 by Loïc Dubigeon in memory of the first milestones of air navigation.

His illustration brings 18 projects ranging from the most serious to the most eccentric, testifying the research conducted until the start of the 20th century in the field of hot-air balloon, airships, and flying vessels.

Capturing those first moments between earth and air, between dream and reality – when man could at last fly –.

Arceau Le Temps Voyageur

“Le temps voyageur” mechanism, displays 24 time zones using a circular disc, has been developed exclusively for Maison. The satellite gravitates on a fantasy map; a planet imagined and created by Jérôme Colliard for the “Planisphere d’un monde équestre” silk scarf. This design was inspired by a giant globe created by the French graphic designer for 2016 Saut Hermès show jumping competition in Paris.

Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Gèneve considers this piece among its nominations for this year’s awards

Crafted in platinum and titanium or entirely in steel, its round case with asymmetrical lugs reveals a new reading of world time. The versions can be fitted with alligator or Swift calf straps, made at Hermès Horloger workshop, with the exquisiteness that characterizes the brand’s leather expertise.

Arceau Lift Tourbillon Répétition Minutes so Black

This model is 24-piece limited and numbered edition. The complex mechanism of the double-gong minute repeater is captivating through the equestrian profile.

The architecture of the tourbillon, formed by a double H, is inspired by an emblematic motif of the Hermès boutique on the Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. This design, which crowns the case and bridge of the kite, repeats the shape of the artistic wrought ironwork that adorns the entrance, railings, staircase, and lift of the legendary Parisian address.

The distinctive inclined figures of the Arceau line evoke a galloping horse and set the pace of the whole, which is combined with fine openwork hands.
