Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin create a collector's piece

Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition is the recent limited edition of only 188 pieces in the world.

The dial of this watch has the legendary “Aston Martin green” color, a shade that is only achieved after meticulously applying the paint twenty-one times, which also incorporates a diamond design with the Aston Martin logos, which recalls the padded seats of the 20’s British automobile brand.

The model pays homage to the iconic 1975 Laureato watch. The 42 mm octagonal bezel case offers greater corrosion resistance and gives a brighter look thanks to the numerous curves, facets, lines, as well as its satin-brushed and polished edges on the watch and bracelet. The dial is adorned by three counters, two chronograph registers and a window for the small seconds. All counters have a partially openwork hand, which gives continuity to the design of the hour and minute hands. The central section of all the counters features a caracoled design. In the early 20th century, in motor racing, each team was assigned a color to distinguish its nationality.

Aston Martin wore the renowned “British Racing Green”. In 1959, the Aston Martin DBR1, triumphed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. From that car to the current Formula 1 vehicle, the team hasn’t stopped wearing that traditional green color in each competition.

“The partnership between Aston Martin and Girard-Perregaux grows stronger every day,” says Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin “…the subtle details of the watch, its partially openworked hands conceived as a tribute to motor racing, the central chronograph seconds hand evokes the side presented by the 1958 Aston Martin DB4” he concludes.

Patrick Pruniaux, Girard-Perregaux’s CEO, comments: “Our manufacture has a long history of collaboration… our partnership with Aston Martin has not only resulted in two exceptional timepieces, has a real exchange of ideas and created a true friendship between both brands and our teams. The Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition highlights this mutual understanding and philosophy of life shared by both brands.” A design mixes the past with the future fits perfectly with both brands.
