The grand slam on clay has already started and the contenders are eying for a huge amount of prize money with the title.

The French Open 2018 that started on 27 May will last until 10 June. This year’s clay grand slam has a total of 39 million euros in prize money. The title winner – men’s and women’s singles – will receive a lofty 2.2 million euros each while the finalists will pocket 1.12 million euros.

In the men’s singles, world no. 1 Rafael Nadal is the most favorite of all for the title while Novak Djokovic, Kei Nishikori, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov etc. are vying for the title.

Whereas, in the women’s singles, the defending champion Jelena Ostapenko, who disappointed Simona Halep last year to clinch the title, is already out of the title race this year.

Ostapenko was ousted in the first round by Kateryna Kozlova of Ukraine.
